Students standing together
Leaders to Legends

Leaders to Legends is an innovative leadership development program designed to empower high school juniors in Tuscaloosa County to become changemakers in their schools and communities. A collaboration between The University of Alabama, Leadership Tuscaloosa Alumni Association, The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, Tuscaloosa City Schools, and the Tuscaloosa County School System, the program is built on three core pillars: character development, career pathways and community outreach.

Leaders to Legends

Guided by the slogan “Leaders Today, Legends Tomorrow,” the program offers participants monthly, hands-on sessions exploring Tuscaloosa’s economic, social, historical and political landscapes. Through mentorship, students connect with influential leaders who provide guidance and inspiration. Character-building activities help participants develop the integrity and resilience needed to navigate challenges, while service projects empower them to create meaningful change in their community.

Leaders to Legends delivers a transformative experience, equipping the next generation of leaders with the tools to make an impact now and leave a legendary legacy for the future.

Applications will be accepted starting Thursday, Jan. 15, through Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026.
